Accounting services

Everything your accounting needs, in one place

Five areas covering the full cycle: record it properly, file it on time, decide with data, and back up every procedure.

How I work

Four steps, no mystery

The same path for every client, from the first message to the monthly report.

01

A free first conversation

Twenty minutes on WhatsApp or a call to understand your operation, your tax regime and the state of your books. That produces a concrete proposal, not a generic quote.

02

We put your numbers in order

We gather what already exists, bring the backlog current and leave the accounting at a clean starting point. If you came from another accountant, I handle the transition.

03

We file on time

A tax calendar built around your dates. I warn you ahead of every deadline, prepare the return and file it within the window.

04

You decide with data

Every month you get financial statements plus a report in plain language. And during the month you ask whatever you need, with no per-question charge.

Who keeps your books

Lic. Michael Castro V.

Incorporated Private Accountant, CPI No. 40365, based in San Carlos, Alajuela. I work directly with the business owner, with no intermediate layers and no account executives rotating every six months.

My work starts where the disorder ends: loose receipts, last-minute filings and the feeling that you never really know how the business is doing. Sorting that out is the easy part. The value comes after, once the numbers can be read and used to decide.

How I handle your information

Commitment

to your goals.

Your tax calendar is my responsibility, not a reminder I hand back to you.

Professionalism

in every detail.

Current regulation applied with judgment, and every figure with its documentary backing.

Confidentiality

on all information.

What passes through my hands stays there. No exceptions and no fine print.

Who I work with

If you recognize yourself here, we already know where to start

  • 01

    Small and mid-size businesses

Daily operations, payroll and electronic invoicing that require formal accounting every month.

  • 02

    Independent professionals

Doctors, lawyers, architects and consultants invoicing for services who want to stop improvising with the tax authority.

  • 03

    Founders starting out

You don't yet know which regime to register under or what will be required. It gets defined on day one and done properly.

  • 04

    Foreign residents

With a business or rentals in Costa Rica and no clarity on local obligations. Service in Spanish or English.

Frequently asked

What everyone asks before starting

Do you serve clients outside San Carlos?

Yes. I work in person across the Northern Zone and remotely with clients throughout Costa Rica. Documents are sent digitally and meetings happen over video call or WhatsApp, so distance does not change the service.

What do I need to get started?

Your national or corporate ID number, access to your taxpayer profile, and whatever prior accounting you have, even if incomplete. With that I review your real situation and tell you what needs catching up before the monthly rhythm begins.

How much does it cost?

It depends on transaction volume, your tax regime and whether there is a backlog to resolve. That is why the first conversation is free: I look at your operation first and then give you a concrete figure, not a list price that changes later.

What is the difference between a Private Accountant and a Certified Public Accountant?

An Incorporated Private Accountant keeps your books, prepares and files your returns and issues proof of income letters. A Certified Public Accountant additionally holds public attestation authority for external audits and financial statement certifications. If your case needs that, I flag it upfront.

Can I switch accountants mid-year?

Yes, and it is more common than it sounds. I receive the information from the previous accountant, verify that what was filed is correct and pick up from there. If I find something outstanding, we resolve it before moving on.

What if the tax authority sends me a request?

I handle the response with you. I review what is being asked, assemble the corresponding documentary backing and prepare the reply within the deadline. It is not something you face alone.

Do I have to be invoicing electronically?

If you are registered as a taxpayer under the traditional regime, yes. If you are not doing it yet or do not know how, that is part of what we sort out in the first weeks.
